Building Client List
And
the Number One Question is
Q.
How much does it cost to do a Team Building USA program?
A. Find out in under 5 minutes by asking for an instant
quote online. Answer a few questions and you will receive a full proposal
online - ready to print out and submit for approval.
Q. Do you ever offer discounts?
A. Yes. We are very interested in building long term relationships with
our clients. Therefore clients who choose to work with us consistently get
our best rates. Your training dollars are best invested with providers who
make a commitment to get to know your company's issues inside and out. That
takes time. Each program builds on the one before, the training value becomes
greater and greater and the cost becomes less and less expensive.
Q. Is your team building training
expensive as compared to other forms of corporate
training?
A. Not only is our training less expensive, it is more effective. Prices
for standard
"presentation training" seminars run from $200.00 - $500.00 per
person per day.
(Check out Skill Path Seminars and the American Management Association
Websites). Our fees are in the lower end of this range and are guaranteed
to deliver a
150% return on investment - or your money back.
Q. How much lead time do you need
to book a team building event?
A. If you are in Southern California we can probably book within 24 hours.
Sometimes emergencies happen and you need someone fast. Give us a call and
we'll do our best. Other than that, we can probably work something out in
as little as 48 hours in advance. We have done this for several clients
because we believe in delivering over the top customer service. Our preference
is to have a lead time of 2 - 4 months. Please understand that our schedule
gets filled quickly and sometimes dates are simply not available. (In cases
where we are booked we will do our best to recommend another provider to
help you out).
Q. How long are your team building
programs?
A. It depends on what you need. We cover the range including: icebreakers
at annual meetings, 1 - 2 hour events, ½ day programs, full day programs,
same program repeated over several days so all employees can go through
the same experience without losing plant productivity (this format works
well in manufacturing environments) and programs which last 6 months or
more (this works well for monthly training meetings, especially with new
to mid-level managers).
Q. What size groups do you work with?
A. The average size group we work with is 10 - 45. However we have worked
with groups as small as 5 and as large as 250. We generally like to provide
1 facilitator for every 10 - 15 participants. The reason for this is to
provide maximum opportunity for learning insights during the post activity
debriefs. With too many people on a team it becomes easy for people to withdraw
and disengage. The true value in our team building programs are not found
in the activities, but in the facilitation which encourages participants
to find the business applications.
Q. Does Team
Building USA travel? Will you do a program at our site?
A. Yes. We come to you. Almost all of our team building activities are portable
so we carry them with us. We travel to annual retreats, corporate headquarters,
field offices, manufacturing plants, hotel conventions, sales meetings
you
name it, we'll be there.
Q. How do you
work with geographically dispersed teams?
A. Wow. This is a tough one. There are no simple answers. But for starters
we encourage the entire team to get together at least twice a year if at
all possible. Doing team building activities during these get togethers
is a good way to quickly help the team to bond, establish open communication
and build trust. Investing in half a day of team building for these events
is a good investment of time as it makes working on the business issues
much easier.
Q. What if I have a physical limitation
(wheelchair, broken arm, weak back, high blood pressure, etc.) can I still
participate? Is this type of training safe?
A. Of course you can. Every team building activity is designed with multiple
roles. You
will always be able to select a role that is physically comfortable for
you. Most of our
team building activities are low impact and require no more physical ability
than
walking up a flight of stairs. (Except for the ropes course program).
Q. What if it rains? Will the team
building activities be cancelled?
A. Nope. When we book a program with your company we usually build in a
back up plan in
case of bad weather. We simply move indoors. Most of our programs are a
combination of indoor training and outdoor team building anyway, so the
change is
not difficult.
Q. How do you go about designing
a team building program so it fits our needs?
A. Before we work together we need to determine if what we offer is what
you need. If
we can't help, we let you know right away. During our first conversation
we ask several focused questions in order to understand the specific issues
your team (or organization) is facing. If we can help with those issues,
we will tell you exactly how we can help. Before the conversation is over
we will outline a program to meet the challenges you are facing, including
pricing, dates and other logistics. We understand you are busy and you need
answers right on the spot.
By the way, it often happens that these conversations turn into team building consultations as we explore the issues you are facing. Because we have worked with so many teams over the years, we can offer some key insights you may have not thought of or tried. This consultation is of course on us.
Q. Who handles the logistics like
travel and booking the venue?
A. Some clients prefer to take care of all the details, others like to have
us do it. We do whatever is more convenient for you. We do like to have
input on the venue as some team building activities have specific space
requirements.
Q. How do you make sure the team
building training results in workplace changes?
A. We do this through our 150% return on investment guarantee. A complete
explanation is included with each proposal. The brief answer is through
goal setting and implementation. Each participant is asked to take one insight
from the day and translate it into a goal. We encourage them to share the
goal with their supervising manager for support, resourcing and accountability.
As the goals are hit the results pour in. We also offer executive coaching
as a follow up to our programs. Some teams find it valuable to concentrate
focused coaching on a specific problem over a period of time.
Q. Do you only
do corporate team building?
A. No. We provide team building for all kinds of organizations: non-profits,
churches, schools, government, sports teams, small business, unions, etc.
Give us a call and let us know what you are looking for. Sometimes we do
pro bono work or give deeply discounted rates if your organization is working
for a charitable cause. It never hurts to ask.
Q. What if
we just want something quick and fun?
A. Sometimes clients are looking for a morale booster for the team. Hey,
no problem. Those are easy to do and we have some exceptionally fun activities.
We adapt to your needs. We have filled "water towers" on the beaches
of Maui, built "hollow squares" in Miami, learned how to "group
juggle" in Pennsylvania and delivered dreams into the "window
of opportunity" in San Diego. Give us a call and we can help you select
the perfect activity. Your team will definitely have fun and talk about
the experience for months, maybe even years to come.
Q. How should I dress for the team building program?
A. Dress comfortably. Jeans and tennis shoes are usually best. Stay away
from skirts and dresses, coats and ties. Dress like you are going to your
favorite park for an afternoon picnic. If the program is going to be outside
with lots of sunshine you might want to bring a hat and sunglasses. We will
make sure sunscreen, drinking water and snacks are available.
Q. How do I get a job with Team Building
USA?
A. We are always looking for good help in every area of the United States.
We have three levels of certification and run frequent training programs.
You MUST have excellent people skills, be a sharp listener and have a solid
grasp on team dynamics for the beginner level. Our senior level facilitators
have significant business experience, advanced degrees and currently serve
as executive coaches. Contact us so we can learn more about you.
If you have a question which was not addressed, please feel free to give
us a call at (619) 445-0500.
